                                               Snickers Mr Beans advert


The purpose of this advert is to entertain and persuade viewers by buy a snickers they do this by using a range of different advertising techniques.

Humour: In this advert humour is used to make the audience laugh and help associate there advert with positive emotions, they do this with the use of celebrity endorsement. The advert features a well-known actor called Rowan Atkinson commonly known as Mr Bean, he is heavily linked to comedy and by using this actor a lot more people will be drawn to the advert due to the fact he is featuring I it. Rowan Atkinson’s face can be seen in the establishing shot in this advert so viewers will instantly recognise him and can hopefully continue to watch.

Reward: This advert is telling you that if your purchase a snicker bar you will have supernatural powers to do things you normally wouldn’t be able to do if you didn’t have one, this is used to manipulate people into purchasing their product, and this is a psychologic reward.

Tagline: In every snickers advert they use the tagline “snickers, you aren’t you when you’re hungry” this tagline is used to persuade buyers to buy a snickers bar when they’re hungry because it will change their mood.

Messages and values In this advert Rowan Atkinson can be seen to be stuck in a tough position because he is trying to jump across buildings but accidently falls through one of the buildings and it face to face with a bunch of ninjas, somebody passes him a snickers bar and he its baled to defeat all the ninjas. It was useful to include this because it can be linked to other people’s experiences when they were in a tough position and needed to get out of it.
