Research and analysis

The analysis research we mad was mainly about romance because there was a lot of romance involved. I played the Hood rat’ in the short film and I also put the film in place. The storyboard was helpful because it made a guide line to my film and also highlighted how long each shot is which made the short story link to the storyboard. The pre-production was successful because it helped us plan our play successfully. The storyboard needed to link to the treatment because the treatment and the storyboard was a guide line for our short story in order to be successful. My story had a good plot but because I ran into certain issues such as the camera wasn’t ready to use so instead of having 2 hours to record I only had half an hour so we had to adapt to the time and shorten our play, also when recording I also realised that when I tried to record certain scenes I couldn’t due to a large amount people gathering around so I had to change the places of the scenes. The strengths of the film was everyone staying in role at all times of the play to make sure the play was clear and understandable for the reader, another strength of our group were the range of different camera shots used. Our weaknesses were that our play was shorter than expected so I didn’t get to preform everything I wanted to so I had to improvise and make my play shorter which caused to be worse than expected. My audience’s feedback was alright because they said that the short film itself is good but the editing of the film wasn’t up to standards. I agree to this feedback because the introduction looks like it was done poorly and the music playlist keeps turning on and off due to it being faulty. One other feedback I received was that the play was very short. 1. One of the improvements that could be made for the short film is the introduction could have been more bold and colourful. 2. Another improvement I could make is the voice overs could have been muted. 3. Another improvement that I could make is to use the tripod and not hand held for certain areas of the short film for example when they were getting married I could of used the tripod to show the environment and also kept the camera more steady that let it wobble in my hands also it makes the film look more professional to watch as well.

  1. Joel you have completed the Induction but tasks are minimal in completion. Your analysis is brief and needs to use more terminology and explain all techniques and code and conventions. Likewise pre production is limited and needs to be fully explained in the evaluation. Structure your written work more when addressing the questions and tasks. Yo have worked well on the filming side of the project but you need to be consistent across all aspects of the assignment.
